Bangstep, drumhop, glitchbounce and others

Getting to grips with the ins and outs of electronic music genres and subgenres can be a daunting proposition.. but fear not.

Over the next few weeks we will be featuring some of the genres that XXXL Bass considers as part of its family. We generally play music from the following genres: drum n bass, dubstep, breaks, glitch hop, and drumstep, however as music is constantly evolving, we evolve with it and are always searching for new sounds and genres to enjoy.

We’ll start by exploring the well known ones that have been around for 10-15 years, and then dig deeper into the newer and lesser known genres.  Some of the areas covered will be general characteristic sounds of the genre, prolific artists and labels, and some more technical aspects for those DJs out there such as BPMs per genre, and some production tips.

So keep an eye out for those installments each week – demystifying the music!
